KANE THOMAS

A man has received a two-year prison sentence along with a 10-year restraining order after being found guilty of harassment and breaking into a woman's home in Warminster.

Kane Thomas, aged 36 and residing at Corner Ground, Warminster, appeared at Winchester Crown Court on Monday (28/07).

He admitted to charges of burglary and harassment involving a woman in her 30s.

Following his conviction, Thomas was sentenced to two years in prison.

The incidents began on April 15, when, after exhibiting increasingly aggressive behavior, Thomas arrived at the victim’s residence in Warminster.

He attempted to force entry by kicking at both the front door and the back gate repeatedly.

On April 19, at approximately 5 a.m., Thomas broke into the victim’s home through a small window while she was asleep inside.

During the intrusion, he damaged a television, shattered kitchen glasses, and forcibly detached doors from their hinges.

He then issued threats to the victim, causing her to fear for her safety.

Thomas was reported to the police, and following an investigation, officers arrested him that same evening.

He was subsequently charged and held in custody.

Sophie Vowles, a local crime investigator, commented: “Thomas is a dangerous person who subjected the victim to escalating violence and harassment.

I want to praise the bravery of the victim for her cooperation throughout the case.

Her testimonies and support were vital in securing justice, resulting in Thomas's incarceration.

It is my hope that this outcome offers her some closure, reassurance, and helps her to move forward with her life.”
