ALEX BAKER FROM WALSALL CONVICTED FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY AND EXTREME MATERIALS

2026-02-16 19:57: Alex Baker, aged 29 and from Walsall, possessed a total of 193 images, which included Category A material.

He was sentenced to a two-year community order and was also subject to a sexual harm prevention order.

--------------------------- 2025-05-30 11:52: Alex Baker, a 29-year-old long-distance lorry driver residing on Davy Road in Walsall, has been found guilty of possessing and creating indecent images of children along with extreme pornographic content.

The court proceedings shed light on Baker's disturbing online activities, which involved the use of search terms that clearly indicated his intent to locate such illicit material.

Among the content discovered were images of children as young as eight years old, as well as videos and pictures involving animals, highlighting the severity and depravity of his actions.

In July 2022, police executed a warrant at Baker’s residence following evidence that suggested he had been viewing child sex abuse images online.

During the search, officers uncovered a significant collection of illicit material stored on his devices—specifically, 193 indecent images and videos depicting children aged between eight and seventeen.

These files had been downloaded over a period exceeding four years, demonstrating a sustained pattern of offending.

The material included not only images of minors but also extreme pornography and content involving animals, which further underscores the disturbing nature of his crimes.

When questioned by authorities, Baker cooperated fully by providing the PIN to his mobile phone, which contained the videos.

Among the videos was one involving a pig, illustrating the extent of his engagement with extreme content.

Prosecutor Chris O'Gorman emphasized that Baker had made full admissions prior to being formally charged, which played a role in the case proceedings.

During the court hearing, Baker’s defense team highlighted his role as the primary breadwinner for his family and his involvement in caring for his wife, whom he supports financially.

They argued that these factors should be considered in the sentencing process.

It was also revealed that Baker only faced formal charges in early 2024, after being on police bail for two years, which indicates the lengthy investigation process involved in this case.

During sentencing, Judge Michael Chambers KC acknowledged Baker’s remorse and cooperation, but also emphasized the gravity of his crimes.

The judge stated, 'If it were not for persons such as yourself viewing these images, evil people out there would not abuse children to create these images and produce the videos of sexual abuse.' Ultimately, Baker pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children and one count of possessing extreme pornographic material.

The court sentenced him to a two-year community order, which includes 55 days of rehabilitation programs.

Additionally, Baker is required to sign the sex offenders register for five years and pay costs amounting to £150.

This case underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat online child exploitation and the importance of holding offenders accountable for their heinous actions.
