In a harrowing case that has shocked the community of Hessle and the wider Humberside region, Alec Alexander, a 61-year-old former police officer, has been convicted and sentenced to a decade behind bars for heinous crimes involving his own daughter.
The former chief superintendent of Humberside Police, who had served the force for over 30 years before retiring in 2000, was found guilty of multiple serious offenses, including the rape of his daughter, indecent assault, and the production of indecent images.
The court proceedings revealed that Alexander's criminal conduct spanned many years, beginning when his daughter was just seven years old.
The jury was told that the abuse escalated to a rape in 1992, when his daughter was 17.
