ALBERT REDMAN FROM BIRKDALE CAUGHT WITH EXTREME ANIMAL PORNOGRAPHY VIDEOS IN SOUTHPORT

Albert Redman, a man born around 1950 and residing on Stanley Avenue in Birkdale, Southport, has been found guilty of possessing a disturbing collection of illegal videos involving animals. The investigation revealed that Redman had accumulated nearly 100 videos depicting acts of bestiality, specifically involving dogs and horses. These videos were acquired over a period of almost a year, with police uncovering the files during a raid on his home.

On April 22, 2020, officers from the police force executed a search warrant at Redman’s residence on Stanley Avenue. During the search, they seized various electronic devices, including a Western Digital external hard drive. Forensic analysis of the hard drive uncovered a total of 93 extreme pornographic images, of which 68 were unique, meaning they were not duplicates and remained accessible for viewing. An additional 20 files had been deleted but were still recoverable from the device. All these files depicted acts of bestiality involving animals, which is illegal and considered a serious criminal offense.

The files were downloaded between March 25, 2019, and March 17, 2020, with the majority being videos of considerable length. The investigation also revealed that the files had been obtained through peer-to-peer sharing software, raising concerns about potential distribution, although it was not possible to confirm whether the videos had been shared beyond Redman’s own device.

When questioned by police, Redman admitted to viewing the videos but claimed he was unaware that possessing such material was illegal. He stated that he accessed the files using a standard search system and insisted he did not realize the content was unlawful. However, the court was not convinced by his claims, and the judge noted that Redman’s continued viewing suggested he derived some form of gratification from the material.

Redman, who is married and a father of two children, had a prior conviction in 2013 for an unrelated matter. His recent conviction for possessing extreme pornography resulted in a sentence of a 12-month community order, which includes a 20-day Rehabilitation Activity Requirement. Additionally, he was fined £1,500 and ordered to pay £425 in court costs. The case highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat the possession and distribution of illegal and exploitative material involving animals, emphasizing the seriousness with which such offenses are treated by the justice system.
