CHESHIRE MAN JAILED FOR MAKING SEXUALISED CALLS TO WOMEN WHILE THEY WORKED
A man from Cheshire named Alastair McMullan has been sentenced to 18 weeks in prison for making sexualised calls to women while they were working. He appeared in Chester Magistrates Court on March 21 to be sentenced after admitting to three counts of harassment without violence, stalking, and sending offensive, indecent, obscene, or threatening messages.
The court also issued restraining orders against five women and imposed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
McMullan, 39 years old from Bridge Close, Wistaston, targeted women in various professions, including retail staff, petrol station attendants, beauticians, and a dog walker, between December 2024 and March 2025.
His misconduct included calling their workplaces, making lewd comments, and trying to lure them to meet him.
When male colleagues of the victims tried to intervene, he directed similar offensive remarks at them and demanded to speak with the women.
Inspector Matt Chapman commented, “McMullan caused fear among four women.
They were unsure of his identity or motives and felt unsafe at work and in their daily lives.
He watched them and persistently pursued them in a disturbing manner.
This behaviour caused concern for their safety and that of their colleagues.
The restraining and Sexual Harm Prevention Orders should support their recovery and help them move past his invasion of their privacy.
Such conduct is entirely unacceptable, and authorities will continue to hold offenders accountable for these malicious actions.”
