ADRIAN TOBY ROBERTS SHOCKING SEX OFFENDER CASE IN BRIDGENORTH AND NORWICH
In July 2022, Adrian, also known as Toby Roberts, was released from custody and has since been residing in Norwich. His criminal history, however, dates back to a series of serious offences committed several years earlier. In July 2017, Roberts was brought before the court to face multiple charges related to his disturbing conduct involving young female victims.Adrian Roberts, a construction worker originally from Bridgenorth, appeared at Hereford Crown Court to answer for a range of sexual offences. The court found him guilty of several heinous crimes, including two counts of rape against a female child under the age of 16, as well as engaging in sexual activity with a female under 16. These offences were committed in Norwich, where Roberts had been living at the time.
In addition to the convictions for rape and sexual activity, Roberts was also found guilty of three counts of indecent assault on a female child under 16 and four counts of sexual activity with a minor under 16. The court ordered that a significant number of these offences remain 'on file,' meaning they are not actively prosecuted but can be reactivated if Roberts commits further crimes in the future. This legal measure allows authorities to keep a record of past offences without immediate court proceedings, providing flexibility for future legal action.
The court proceedings revealed that Roberts targeted two teenage girls, both under the age of 16, during his time in Norwich. The abuse was described as particularly disturbing, involving multiple instances of sexual misconduct. After the offences in Norwich, Roberts moved to Shropshire, where he continued his life away from the public eye.
Roberts, who was working as a construction worker, was sentenced to a total of ten years in prison for his crimes. The court also mandated that he register as a sex offender for life, a measure designed to monitor his activities and prevent further harm. Additionally, a strict sexual harm prevention order was imposed, which restricts his ability to engage in certain activities, including employment and relationships, to ensure public safety and prevent any recurrence of his criminal behaviour.
Roberts's case remains a stark reminder of the importance of vigilant law enforcement and judicial oversight in protecting vulnerable minors from predatory individuals. His release in 2022 has raised concerns among community members in Norwich and Bridgenorth, emphasizing the ongoing need for monitoring and safeguarding efforts.
