MISSING ASYLUM SEEKER ACCUSED OF SEXUAL ASSAULT VANISHES FROM PORTLAND PORT
A man named Adnan Ahmed, aged 36, who was residing on the Bibby Stockholm asylum seeking barge in Portland, Dorset, has gone missing amid allegations of sexual assault. The crime is alleged to have occurred at an address in Portland on August 21.
A court summons was issued on November 2 for Ahmed to appear at Weymouth magistrates’ court to face a criminal charge related to this assault, but he failed to attend.
The magistrates then issued a warrant for his arrest after confirming that he is currently unlocatable and no contact details are known.
Since the barge's vacating following the government's announcement of its closure, over 300 residents have left, and Ahmed's whereabouts have become unknown.
The court clerk, Natalie Evans, confirmed that Ahmed was on conditional bail and expected in court but was not present, and now the authorities have no knowledge of his current location.
This incident is part of a broader situation where multiple asylum seekers living on the barge have gone missing, with others having criminal convictions but also failed to appear for court or sentencing.
