WINDSOR POLICE OFFICER ADAM COX CAUGHT WITH OVER 1,700 CHILD INDECENT IMAGES IN SHOCKING CASE

In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the community of Windsor, Berkshire, a police officer has been found to possess an alarming number of indecent images of children. Pc Adam Cox, aged 31, who was once part of the Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection unit, has admitted to hoarding more than 1,700 illicit images, including some of the most severe category A material. The revelation came after a police raid on his Windsor residence in June of the previous year, during which authorities uncovered a disturbing collection of digital content.

At the time of his arrest, Cox was suspended from duty, and his computer was seized for forensic examination. Investigators discovered a total of 1,691 indecent and extreme images stored on his device. Cox attempted to downplay his actions, telling police, “I’m not hoarding images. I have never meant to hurt anyone,” but the evidence told a far more troubling story. Among the illicit content were images of children as young as seven, as well as an infant, with some images depicting sexual abuse, torture, and other extreme acts.

Further investigation revealed that Cox had created an online persona, calling himself “Emily Whitehouse,” a teenage girl he used to engage in explicit chat conversations with other men. The Old Bailey heard that Cox used images found online of a Canadian woman who had committed suicide at the age of 21 to craft his fake identity. His online activities included searching for “pre-teens” and exchanging explicit messages, which raised serious concerns about his intentions and the potential for exploitation.

In court, Cox pleaded guilty to four counts of possession of indecent images, including 645 of the most serious Category A images, which depict acts such as rape and torture of children. He denied encouraging three other men—Harry Gibbs, 32, of Stevenage, Hertfordshire; Andrew Monk, 39, of Kettering, Northamptonshire; and Ajai Shridhar, 46, of Ealing, west London—to attempt to obtain indecent images from his online persona “Emily.” These charges were ordered to lie on file, meaning they will not be pursued further at this stage.

Judge Mark Dennis QC described Cox’s actions as a reckless attempt to “for kicks,” highlighting the disturbing nature of his online deception. Cox appeared in court alongside the three men, all of whom admitted to attempting to possess indecent images of children. Monk and Gibbs received 12-month community orders, while Shridhar’s sentencing is scheduled for 22 December. Cox himself has been subjected to a sexual harm prevention order, restricting his future online activities and contact.

In a separate but related case from November 2017, Cox, then aged 37, faced similar charges after police from Hertfordshire arrested him. He pleaded guilty to possessing nearly 1,700 indecent images, including 645 Category A images, 201 Category B images, 449 Category C images, and 396 extreme pornographic videos. These categories indicate the severity of the content, with Category A involving penetration, bestiality, or sadism. Cox, residing on Dedworth Road in Windsor, was bailed to appear at the Old Bailey for sentencing on 15 December, where he faces a potentially lengthy prison sentence for his crimes.
