MAN JAILED FOLLOWING RAPE & POSSESSED SEVERAL INDECENT IMAGES OF CHILDREN
A man received a prison sentence after being convicted of raping a woman at a restaurant in Frodsham.Abdul Helim was sentenced to six years behind bars at Chester Crown Court on Friday, 7 November.
The 50-year-old resident of Grange Avenue, Oldham, was found guilty after a three-day trial of charges including rape and possession of indecent images of children.
During the court proceedings, it was revealed that the victim and Helim met at the India Garden Restaurant in Frodsham, where they developed a sexual relationship and frequently met.
In late 2022, Helim asked the woman to do something she did not agree to, and despite her refusal, he forcibly raped her.
The incident was reported to authorities, leading to Helim’s arrest in October 2023 when police launched an investigation.
During police interviews, Helim denied any sexual relationship with the woman, claiming they were merely friends.
Mobile phone data review showed numerous messages between them that clearly indicated a sexual relationship.
Authorities also found that Helim possessed several indecent images of children.
