KENT MAN JAILED FOR SHOP BASEMENT MURDER OF GRANDMOTHER
Abdul Hannan, a 45-year-old resident of Maidstone, received a five-year prison sentence due to his participation in the homicide of a grandmother named Harjit Chaggar.The investigation revealed that her body was hidden in a bin bag tucked beneath the floorboards of a shop located in Chatham, Kent.
Her severely decomposed remains were discovered 12 days after she was reported missing, with evidence indicating she was still alive when thrown into the basement.
The court found that Hannan, along with three others, was responsible for her murder and for obstructing her proper burial.
Although he was acquitted of the murder charge itself, he was convicted and sentenced for being part of the conspiracy.
Throughout the proceedings, the accused maintained silence, and the precise motive behind the crime has not been established.
