AARON TOMLINSON OF MACCLESFIELD SENTENCED TO 15 YEARS FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES AGAINST YOUNG GIRLS

A young man from Macclesfield, Aaron Tomlinson, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after being convicted of multiple serious sexual offences involving minors. The offences, which spanned over the course of a year, included the rape of two schoolgirls and the sexual assault of a third girl, highlighting a disturbing pattern of predatory behavior.

Tomlinson, aged 18 and residing on Paradise Street in Macclesfield, was tried in his absence at Chester Crown Court. The court proceedings took place despite his refusal to attend, as he chose not to leave his cell during the hearing. The conviction was based on evidence presented in his absence, and the court found him guilty of all charges.

Following the sentencing, Mary Dowrick, a senior crown prosecutor with the Rape and Serious Sexual Offences unit of the Mersey-Cheshire Crown Prosecution Service, issued a statement emphasizing the nature of Tomlinson’s conduct. She described his actions as part of a “continuing pattern” of sexual predation against young girls, which underscores the severity and ongoing risk posed by his behavior.

In her statement, Dowrick explained that Tomlinson was sentenced to a total of 15 years of detention in a Young Offenders Institution. Additionally, he was subjected to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order. This order is designed to prevent him from having unsupervised contact or communication with any female under the age of 16. It also restricts his use of computers, aiming to prevent further offenses and protect potential victims.

The charges against Tomlinson included two counts of rape, one count of sexual activity with a child, and one count of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity. Despite denying all the allegations, he was convicted on all counts after the trial. His refusal to attend the court proceedings did not prevent the court from delivering a guilty verdict and imposing the sentence, reflecting the gravity of his crimes and the court’s determination to protect vulnerable minors from further harm.
