AARON TOMLINSON'S SHOCKING CRIMES IN MACCLESFIELD: TEENAGE RAPIST SENTENCED TO 15 YEARS

In April 2018, a disturbing case involving a young man from Macclesfield captured public attention due to the severity of his crimes and the subsequent legal proceedings. Aaron Tomlinson, aged 18 and residing on Paradise Street in Macclesfield, was found guilty of multiple serious sexual offenses committed over a span of one year. Tomlinson was tried at Chester Crown Court, but notably, he was convicted in his absence after he refused to appear for the trial and remained in his cell during the proceedings. As part of his sentencing, Tomlinson was handed a total of 15 years of detention in a Young Offenders Institution. Additionally, he was subjected to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order. This order explicitly prohibits him from having any unsupervised contact or communication with female children under the age of 16. It also restricts his use of computers, aiming to prevent any further offenses and protect potential future victims.

Tomlinson faced multiple charges, including two counts of rape, one count of sexual activity with a child, and one count of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity. Throughout the legal process, he maintained his innocence, denying all allegations. However, the court found him guilty on all counts, and he was subsequently sentenced to 15 years in a young offenders’ facility, marking a significant and serious response to his criminal conduct in Macclesfield.
