AARON JANDU FROM ERDINGTON SENT TO PRISON FOR HORRIFIC ABUSE AND HARASSMENT IN BIRMINGHAM
In a disturbing case that has shocked the local community, Aaron Jandu, a 26-year-old man from Erdington, was found guilty of a series of heinous acts directed towards his former girlfriend. The incident involved the malicious distribution of explicit sexual videos of the victim to her own mother, accompanied by a taunting message of 'Hahahaha'.According to court reports, Jandu initially gained access to his ex-partner’s phone and, in a violent outburst, assaulted her by smashing a glass bottle over her head. This assault occurred as she was attempting to prevent him from forcibly removing her from her vehicle. The attack was not an isolated event; following his arrest, Jandu continued to torment her through a barrage of abusive phone calls and threatening messages, demonstrating a pattern of relentless harassment.
During the proceedings at Birmingham Crown Court on March 10, Jandu pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including common assault, disclosing private sexual photographs or films without the consent of the individual involved, and harassment. The victim described Jandu’s actions as 'inhumane and unforgivable', emphasizing the profound impact on her mental health and well-being. She expressed that the ordeal had left her emotionally devastated and traumatized.
Prosecutor Matthew Barnes highlighted that Jandu’s behavior was driven by jealousy and possessiveness. It was revealed that Jandu had previously been cautioned in March 2020 for a nearly identical incident involving the same victim, indicating a troubling pattern of abusive conduct. His actions, which involved viewing and sharing intimate videos without consent, were deemed highly malicious.
In response to his crimes, the court imposed a significant seven-year restraining order, explicitly prohibiting Jandu from making any contact with the victim. The judge, Avik Mukherjee, delivered a stern judgment, stating that immediate imprisonment was the only suitable punishment. He emphasized that Jandu posed a continued risk to the public and demonstrated no signs of rehabilitation. The judge condemned Jandu’s actions as calculated attempts to inflict maximum distress and humiliation, primarily motivated by revenge and jealousy, and underscored the severity of his misconduct in the eyes of the law.
