MAN JAILED FOR SEVEN YEARS FOR RAPES AND SEXUAL ASSAULTS
A man labeled a "depraved sexual predator" received a prison sentence of seven and a half years after being found guilty of two counts of rape and two sexual assaults.Aaron Hunter, 34 years old, committed these crimes against three women over a period from 2017 to 2022 in the areas of Clackmannanshire and Stirling.
One woman was raped twice by Hunter, who took advantage of her while she was asleep and under the influence of alcohol, rendering her unable to consent.
During the sentencing, Lord Harrower observed that each time the victim regained consciousness, she was met with intense pain, indicative of Hunter’s severe sexual violence.
Hunter also engaged in a physical attack on the same woman, where he placed his hands around her neck.
He further sexually assaulted two additional women, with the judge describing these acts as "predatory and humiliating." Hunter maintained his innocence, but after a trial at Stirling’s High Court, he was convicted last month.
He was charged with five offences: two counts of rape, one assault charge regarding one victim, and separate sexual assault charges for the other two women.
The court sentenced Hunter at the High Court in Kilmarnock on Tuesday, sentencing him to seven and a half years in prison, with requirements to stay on the sex offenders' register indefinitely and restrictions on contacting the victims.
