ALFRETON MAN AARON FROST CAUGHT IN DERBYSHIRE ONLINE PREDATOR SCHEME

In April 2023, a disturbing case emerged involving Aaron Frost, a resident of Alfreton, Derbyshire, who was caught in a sting operation conducted by vigilant paedophile hunters. Frost, aged 39, was found to have engaged in inappropriate online communications with an individual posing as a young girl, leading to serious legal consequences.

According to court proceedings held at Chesterfield Magistrates Court, Frost initiated contact with the decoy, who was operating under the alias “Elle” on the Wink chat platform. During their conversations, Frost claimed to be 38 years old and sought to establish a connection by asking, “is that Ok?” The court was informed that Frost was fully aware of the decoy’s age, which was falsely presented as 13 years old, during the period of their online exchanges from May 19 to May 27 of the previous year.

Prosecutor Becky Allsop detailed the nature of Frost’s messages, revealing that he expressed a desire to meet the girl for activities such as drinking alcohol, watching films, and even suggested intimate encounters like joining her in the shower or bath, as well as kissing her. Frost also sent explicit photographs of himself, including one taken in the shower and another lying in bed, further describing his intentions to the decoy.

It was the group known as “Defending The Innocent” that uncovered Frost’s activities and subsequently alerted the police. Following their intervention, law enforcement officers arrested Frost, who, during police interviews, admitted to knowing that the individual he was communicating with was a 13-year-old girl. Frost maintained that he was in a relationship with an adult woman and insisted he had no sexual interest in children.

Frost’s solicitor, Abbie Edwards, emphasized that his actions were “out of character” and not indicative of his usual behavior. The court heard that Frost had no prior criminal convictions. He pleaded guilty to attempting to engage in sexual communication with a minor, a serious offence that led to his case being transferred to Derby Crown Court for sentencing scheduled for May 11. Pending the outcome, Frost was granted bail under strict conditions, including a prohibition on communicating with any child under 18 without supervision, whether online or in person.

Frost’s case highlights the ongoing efforts of community groups and law enforcement to combat online predation and protect vulnerable minors from exploitation.
