EAST LONDON TUBE STATION PERVERT JAILED FOR FILMING UP WOMEN'S SKIRTS
A pervert has been jailed for filming up women's skirts as they travelled up escalators at Stratford station in east London.Zeynel Uclay, 46, followed his victims up escalators at Stratford station and recorded video footage from behind them on his smartphone.
When he approached one woman as she traveled towards Westfield Shopping Centre, she noticed him filming her thigh.
She confronted him after the incident on June 13 of the previous year, but he walked away, as reported to Thames Crown Court.
Two months later, Uclay was seen attempting to film up the skirts of two teenage girls.
A woman saw him encouraging his victims to walk ahead of him before bending down behind them to film.
The witness reported him to PCSOs, who called for backup before Uclay was arrested at the station on August 11.
He denied two counts of outraging public decency but was convicted following a trial.
He was sentenced to three months in prison for each offense, to run concurrently, on July 8.
Additionally, he was ordered to pay £620 in costs, an £80 victim surcharge, and was issued a criminal behavior order banning him from carrying any device capable of capturing images or video in public for two years.
Detective Constable Gareth Jones from the British Transport Police stated, “Unwanted sexual behaviour will not be tolerated anywhere on the rail network.
We take every report seriously and will pursue offenders to ensure they are brought before the courts.
I am pleased to see that Uclay has been brought to account for his actions.” Siwan Hayward, TfL’s deputy director of enforcement, remarked, “The courageous act of reporting these incidents has helped us bring this man to justice.
We take all reports of unwanted sexual behaviour extremely seriously and do everything we can to prevent these kinds of incidents.”
