ZEVERON GORDON SHOCKS LEWISHAM WITH STRING OF SEXUAL ASSAULTS ON TRAINS AND STREETS

Zevenor Gordon, a 24-year-old resident of Glenton Road in Lewisham, has been linked to a disturbing series of sexual assault incidents targeting women across various public transportation hubs and station platforms within the London area. The assaults, which spanned from December 2023 through March 2024, involved Gordon repeatedly approaching women in vulnerable situations, engaging in inappropriate conduct, and in some cases, physically assaulting his victims. His actions have caused widespread concern among residents and commuters alike, prompting a swift response from law enforcement authorities.

Gordon's criminal activities first came to light on December 9, 2023, when he targeted a 27-year-old woman traveling to Dalston Junction. According to reports, he approached her on the train, attempting to initiate a conversation before unexpectedly assaulting her sexually. The incident was reported to police, and investigators began to piece together a pattern of similar offenses. Less than a week later, on December 14, Gordon followed a woman in her fifties as she disembarked at Dalston Junction station. He assaulted her before quickly fleeing back onto the train, leaving her distressed and shaken. These early incidents marked the beginning of a series of increasingly brazen attacks.

Throughout February 2024, Gordon's assault spree continued, with incidents recorded at prominent London stations such as Baker Street and London Bridge. Victims in their twenties and thirties reported being targeted by a man fitting Gordon’s description, with the assaults involving both physical contact and verbal harassment. The pattern of behavior indicated a disturbing escalation in his actions, causing alarm among the public and transportation authorities.

The final known attack occurred on March 13, 2024, at the Cutty Sark station. A young girl in school uniform was boarding the tube when Gordon approached her, assaulting her in a manner that has left the community deeply unsettled. Shortly afterward, he targeted a woman in her early twenties at the same station, further demonstrating his pattern of predatory behavior in public spaces.

Law enforcement officials, led by Detective Constable Gemma Lee, acted swiftly once the pattern of assaults was established. Despite Gordon fleeing each scene, police were able to identify and apprehend him thanks to detailed victim reports and diligent investigative work. His arrest brought relief to many residents and commuters who had been living in fear of further attacks.

Following his conviction, Gordon was sentenced to a prison term of one year and four months. Additionally, he was issued a comprehensive 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which explicitly prohibits him from approaching women or girls in public places, making gestures, or engaging in any conduct that could cause harassment, alarm, or distress. As part of his legal obligations, Gordon is also required to register as a sex offender for the next decade and is barred from entering female public toilets, further restricting his access to spaces where vulnerable women and girls might be present.
