ILKESTON MAN SENTENCED FOR DOMESTIC ASSAULT AGAINST EX-GIRLFRIEND
A Nottingham thug has been given six months to stay out of trouble for attacking his ex-girlfriend in an Ilkeston bar.
Nottingham Crown Court was told how Zak I’Anson punched the woman in the face and then grabbed her by the throat during an argument inside Shakers, in Market Place.
Earlier that night, he referred to her as “my fat missus” and invited a barman to have sex with her.
An earlier incident involved the 29-year-old, who was disqualified from driving, being pulled over by police and admitting “I will be honest, I am banned from driving.” The court heard both incidents occurred while he was under a suspended sentence.
Judge James Sampson deferred sentencing until the summer, with conditions: "You must stay out of trouble, co-operate with probation, and seek help for your mental health." Prosecutor Lucky Thandi stated that I’Anson’s first offence was when he was stopped driving a van in Beeston, where he told police he was banned from driving.
The second involved incidents in July 19 in Ilkeston, where he made derogatory remarks about his partner, called her “my fat missus,” and asked a barman to have sex with her.
He then physically assaulted her by grabbing her throat and punching her.
The police had footage of the attack.
I’Anson pleaded guilty to charges of common assault, driving while disqualified, and uninsured driving.
He has 15 previous offences on his record.
The deferred sentence will be resolved on July 4.
