FORMER BBC JOURNALIST IN COURT CHARGED WITH RAPES
The individual, Jack Tymon, was employed as a journalist and presenter at BBC Radio Derby from 2021 until early 2025.He is now charged with serious sexual offences, including raping one woman twice and engaging in both rape and assault against a second woman.
He appeared before Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court earlier in relation to these allegations, which are said to have occurred in 2017.
No plea was entered during his initial hearing.
The 27-year-old, who comes from the Ilkeston area in Derbyshire, was released on bail and is set to face further proceedings at Nottingham Crown Court on 13 October.
Contacted by BBC News, a spokesperson emphasised the organisation’s editorial independence and stated that they would not comment publicly while the case remains active in the courts.
