ZAIN SHAH FROM BLACKLEY ESCAPES JAIL AFTER GROOMING 12-YEAR-OLD GIRL IN MANCHESTER

In a case that has shocked the local community, Zain Shah, a 23-year-old man from Blackley, Manchester, was spared a prison sentence after admitting to the sexual assault of a young girl aged just 12. The disturbing incident began when Shah met the girl in a local park, where he initiated a grooming process that would lead to multiple meetings and emotional manipulation.

Following their initial encounter, Shah continued to contact the girl through numerous phone calls and text messages, despite being fully aware of her tender age. During these exchanges, he falsely professed his love for her, claiming he wanted to marry her and have a sexual relationship, which is both illegal and morally reprehensible. His actions demonstrated a calculated effort to exploit the innocence of a child for his own gratification.

The abuse escalated during several clandestine meetings at a car park, where Shah engaged in inappropriate and illegal conduct with the young girl. The victim’s mother, distressed and concerned, eventually reported the matter to the police, prompting an investigation into Shah’s activities.

Further complicating the case, Shah employed deceitful tactics to gain the girl’s trust. He falsely claimed to be an undercover police officer who had been shot in the line of duty, a lie designed to manipulate her emotions and secure her confidence. This deception underscores the calculated and predatory nature of his behavior.

Shah, who resides on Rothsay Road in Blackley, appeared before Manchester Crown Court to face charges. He pleaded guilty to the sexual assault of a female under 13, a serious offense that highlights the gravity of his misconduct. In sentencing, the court opted for a community punishment order, which requires Shah to participate in a sexual offending treatment program for three years.

Additionally, Shah will be subject to a five-year registration on the Sex Offenders Register. He is also prohibited from contacting or attempting to contact any female under the age of 16 for a period of three years, aiming to prevent any further harm or exploitation.

Detective Sergeant Alex Wild of Greater Manchester Police commented on the case, emphasizing the severity of grooming crimes. “This was a classic grooming case, with Shah using emotionally-charged language to suggest to this young girl that they were in a real, normal and healthy relationship. Of course, that is absolutely absurd,” he stated. “The reality is a 23-year-old man manipulated a child in order to get what he wanted, even pretending to be an undercover police officer who had been shot in the line of duty in order to win her confidence and sympathy. We take these incidents very seriously indeed.”
