A TRAIL OF VICTIMS Jurors at the High Court in Edinburgh heard that Lawson terrorised four victims, including two adult women who were repeatedly raped over years, and two teenage girls, whom he attacked in separate incidents in 2023.
One victim described being dragged, restrained and subjected to sexual demands, while another said Lawson began abusing her while she was asleep.

Trial judge Thomas Welsh KC didn’t mince his words: “Custody in a case like this is inevitable.” RECENT ATROCITIES Even after years of attacks on adult victims, Lawson escalated his violence.
In October 2023, he molested and raped a 15-year-old girl near Ellon.
He then raped a 14-year-old at a property in Peterhead.
BEHIND BARS WHERE HE BELONGS Now on the sex offenders register and held in custody awaiting sentencing, Lawson faces a lengthy jail term for his crimes bringing long-overdue justice to the victims he tormented.
As communities across the north-east react with shock and anger, one thing is clear: this predator will never again be free to walk among them.
—————————————————————————————————— UPDATE SENTENCING 09-12-2025 A man who targeted both adult women and teenage girls in a series of sexual offences spanning more than a decade has been handed a 12-year prison sentence.
Yuen Lawson, 37, was convicted at trial of nine charges, seven of which involved rape.
The court heard that his offending stretched from 2012 to 2023, with incidents taking place in Peterhead, Ellon and Dundee.
Jurors were told that Lawson carried out repeated assaults, including attacks on two underage girls and a sexual assault on a woman who was asleep at the time.
When sentencing him, the judge described the experiences of the victims as “a horrific ordeal” and said the emotional and psychological damage Lawson caused could not be measured.
Victim impact statements were submitted to the court outlining the long-term impact of his actions.
In addition to the 12-year custodial term, Lawson will be monitored in the community for three further years after release.
Breaching the conditions of that licence period would allow authorities to return him to custody.
He has also been placed on the sex offenders register without time limit, and non-harassment orders prevent him from contacting any of the victims.
Lawson, who had denied the allegations throughout the trial, saw his sentence backdated to December 2023, when he was first remanded in custody.
