WILLIAM STEWART'S HORRIFIC CRIMES IN MACDUFF AND MOTHERWELL REVEALED
William Stewart, a 40-year-old man from Macduff, has been handed down a severe prison sentence of 13 years after being found guilty of a series of heinous historic sex crimes.
The conviction was delivered by the High Court in Aberdeen, where it was detailed that Stewart committed multiple acts of sexual violence against both a woman and a child, with some of the child's assaults dating back to when she was only five years old.
During the court proceedings, the jury established that Stewart was responsible for a disturbing pattern of rape and sexual offenses spanning over a decade, from 2004 to 2019.
The court heard that his crimes included raping a woman and sexually abusing a young girl, with the abuse of the child occurring at various locations in Motherwell and Aberdeenshire.
