FATHER AND SON PERVERTS WITH A SHOCKING COLLECTION OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY
A father and son responsible for collecting a large and disturbing number of images showing young children being sexually abused are facing the possibility of jail sentences.William McCreadie, 63, and his son Daniel, 26, were registered as sex offenders following the discovery of their collection of indecent photographs.
The case was heard at Paisley Sheriff Court, where police revealed they had raided their home after authorities in the public protection unit learned of their offences.
Their offending involved downloading and storing paedophilic images on discs during a period from April 2012 to November 2015 at an address on Elm Drive in Johnstone Castle.
Officers seized an ACER computer tower from Daniel’s bedroom containing file sharing software and a total of 3,333 images; of these, 18 were classified as Category A, the highest level of severity, 31 as Category B, and 2,894 as Category C.
A local police search of William’s bedroom uncovered 150 computer discs, 31 of which contained indecent images of children.
During their court appearance, Sheriff David Pender chose not to impose imprisonment.
Instead, Daniel was ordered to complete 220 hours of unpaid work over nine months and was placed under supervision for three years.
William McCreadie was also given a three-year supervision order and was required to undertake 100 hours of unpaid work within his community sentence.
