"EVIL" PAISLEY MAN RAPED YOUNG GIRL IN SICKENING CHILDRENS CARE HOME ATTACK
A man has been found guilty of sexually assaulting a young girl who was considered vulnerable and was under his care at a children's residential facility in Renfrewshire.Denis Donnell, aged 47, was convicted on October 24 of four criminal charges including rape and sexual assault, after a trial held at the High Court in Paisley.
The criminal acts took place over a span of three weeks during December 2022 and January 2023.
The victim was a resident at the home where Donnell served as a care manager.
Authorities detained and charged Donnell in January 2023 following the victim’s reports to other staff members at the facility.
Detective Inspector David Hardie commented: 'Donnell exploited his role of trust to perpetrate serious crimes against a vulnerable girl.
While she was supposed to be receiving care, he took advantage and committed these offences in the place where she believed she was safe.
Police Scotland remains committed to investigating abuse cases wherever they occur and regardless of the perpetrator.
We urge anyone with concerns about sexual abuse to reach out to officers or support services for assistance.'
