2008: BRIERLEY HILL KNIFE ATTACKER JAILED FOR 15 MONTHS
A man from Brierley Hill, Wayne Williams, aged 28, was sentenced to 15 months in prison after threatening his partner with a knife. The assault took place at Joanne Hutchinson’s residence after Williams had been drinking heavily.
He answered her door and then dragged her inside by her hair, subjecting her to a half-hour ordeal.
The court was informed that Williams took her upstairs and threatened her with the words, "I want you dead.
I will have you shot.” Prosecutor Rasham Mohammed explained that Williams then brandished a four-inch knife and threatened Miss Hutchinson, who was worried about the safety of herself and their young son.
She was injured when a cut was made to her neck when the blade was pressed to her throat, and she was also kicked in the legs and punched in the head.
Williams, of Lower Derry Street, admitted to causing actual bodily harm through assault.
He has a history of two previous assault convictions involving Miss Hutchinson.
The judge described the attack as serious and terrifying, leading to a sentence of 15 months in jail.
