WAYNE RICHARDSON FROM SLEAFORD SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES AND VOYEURISM IN LINCOLNSHIRE
In a recent court case held at Lincoln Crown Court, Wayne Richardson, a 54-year-old man from the Sleaford area, was convicted of multiple serious sexual offences involving young girls.Richardson was sentenced to three and a half years in prison after he admitted to engaging in inappropriate and illegal conduct towards three female minors.
The charges against Richardson included two counts of sexual assault and two counts of sexual activity.
Additionally, he pleaded guilty to two counts of voyeurism, which involved spying on two of the children.
The offences reportedly began in January 2011 and persisted until Richardson's activities were uncovered in March of this year.
The court was informed that the three girls involved, whose identities are protected by law, were profoundly affected by his actions, experiencing significant emotional and psychological harm.
During police interviews, Richardson was asked to explain his behaviour.
His response was notably vague and concerning, as he stated, “I’ve no idea.
There must be something wrong with me.” This remark was read aloud during the proceedings, highlighting his apparent lack of insight or remorse.
The court also reviewed Richardson’s criminal history, which includes a previous conviction from 1977 for rape in West Yorkshire.
At that time, he was sentenced to six months of detention.
Despite this early conviction, Richardson managed to stay out of trouble for over three decades, with his life seemingly taking a different turn.
Joanna Stables, representing Richardson, argued that he had become a dedicated family man, having raised two adult children.
She emphasized that his guilty pleas had spared his victims the ordeal of giving evidence in court, which was seen as a mitigating factor.
Judge Michael Heath, presiding over the case, delivered the sentence, underscoring the gravity of Richardson’s actions.
He pointed out that there were three victims involved and highlighted the seriousness of the offences.
Richardson, who is currently without a fixed address, was also subjected to a sexual offences prevention order.
This order prohibits him from having any unsupervised contact with girls under the age of 16, aiming to prevent any further harm.
