VINCENT JORDAN OF WORSLEY SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX ABUSE INCITEMENT IN MANCHESTER AND KEMSLEY

In a significant crackdown on child exploitation, Vincent Jordan, a 47-year-old man from Worsley, Manchester, has been sentenced to an indefinite term of imprisonment under a public protection order. Although Jordan did not directly engage in sexual acts with children, he was found guilty of inciting others to commit such heinous acts, demonstrating a disturbing pattern of predatory behavior.

Jordan's arrest and subsequent conviction stemmed from an extensive investigation codenamed Operation Starlight, which uncovered his involvement through email communications. Authorities traced these emails to a computer used by Steven Horton, a 44-year-old former soldier residing in Burkestone Close, Kemsley, Sittingbourne. Horton was also sentenced to life imprisonment last month, with a minimum term of five and a half years before he can be considered for parole.

The court heard that Jordan, who worked as an accounts manager for a computer software company, used his wife’s email account to impersonate a woman in his online communications. When police executed a search warrant at his residence on January 11, his wife was also detained, though Jordan explicitly stated that she was not involved in his criminal activities.

Prosecutor Anthony Haycroft detailed the extent of Jordan’s involvement, revealing that multiple instances of child sexual abuse were linked to Horton. Investigators discovered numerous emails from Jordan on Horton’s computer, indicating a disturbing level of coordination and intent. Jordan admitted to possessing 18 CDs in his vehicle containing child pornography, which included a total of 2,280 photographs and 155 video clips. Some of these materials were classified at the highest level of depravity, including content involving torture.

Further evidence revealed that some of the children depicted in the images had been identified, heightening the severity of the case. Jordan also engaged in disturbing online interactions, including contacting a man who called himself Animal Magic and encouraging him to abuse his own child. A photograph depicting such abuse was recovered from one of Jordan’s CDs.

In a particularly alarming incident from August of the previous year, Jordan attempted to persuade an unidentified man to kidnap a child and commit rape. Additionally, he received indecent photographs of a child under the age of two from another father, further illustrating his depraved intentions.

Jordan faced multiple charges, including two counts of incitement to rape, two counts of incitement to cause sexual activity with a child, incitement to produce child pornography, incitement to kidnap, incitement to take indecent photographs of a child, nine counts of making indecent images of children, and three counts of distributing such images. His actions are part of a broader network of abuse that has shocked the community and law enforcement alike.

Horton’s sentencing was handed down alongside other convicted individuals, including Archibald Wood, a 60-year-old former Army major and school governor from Tavistock, Devon, who received a seven-year sentence, and Monica McCanch, 55, formerly of Ash near Canterbury, who was sentenced to six years. McCanch is currently residing in Montego Bay, Jamaica, and her involvement in the case underscores the international reach of this criminal investigation.
