The incident dates back to December 2017, when Allott initiated contact with a decoy set up by the vigilante group Justice4Kids, which aims to expose individuals seeking inappropriate interactions with minors.

According to court proceedings at Manchester Crown Court, Allott's conversations quickly took a disturbing turn as he began asking questions of a sexual nature. The decoy, posing as a 13-year-old girl named Kara, reported that Allott had sent her an explicit photograph depicting a naked man and woman. This act of sending an indecent image was considered a serious breach of conduct and led to his immediate arrest on the same day.

The Justice4Kids team had visited Allott’s residence in Withington to confront him directly. During this confrontation, they revealed that their representative had posed as the young girl to catch him in the act.
