CARDIFF MAN JAILED FOR A DOMESTIC-RELATED KIDNAP
Vaughan Williams, a resident of Tremorfa in Cardiff, has been sentenced to prison after being found guilty of kidnapping linked to a domestic disturbance.The 51-year-old admitted to unlawfully removing the victim from her home in Pentrebane through force.
He received a seven-year prison term and is subject to a restraining order lasting ten years to protect the victim.
The incident took place in November of the previous year, when Williams forcibly pulled the victim along the street and into her flat.
He detained her there until her family members arrived and knocked on the door.
Police responded to an emergency call and arrested Williams upon arrival.
He pleaded guilty to the kidnapping charge and was sentenced at Newport Crown Court on June 12.
Detective Constable Amanda Pearce, who led the investigation, stated: “I want to commend the bravery of the victim.
This event has had a profound emotional, physical, and social effect on her.
“We hope she can now begin to heal, knowing that Williams is serving a lengthy prison sentence and that a Restraining Order is in place.
“Someone who was a danger to her has now been lawfully removed from society.”
