She reported experiencing pain in her knees and feet.
Police interviews showed Georgiev remained silent, answering “no comment.” It was also disclosed that although he has no convictions in England, he has seven in Bulgaria, including charges of human trafficking, extortion by threats or coercion, and raping a minor.
A statement from the victim’s daughter detailed the lasting damage to her mother, saying: “She has become reliant on family for basic needs and lost her independence.
Her dementia has worsened, and her health has declined.” The defense requested a lighter sentence, citing his guilty plea and the brief nature of the incident, which involved no threats of violence.
The judge condemned the act as “contemptible,” stressing it took advantage of the victim’s vulnerability and caused considerable distress.
