VAN NEWMAN SENTENCED FOR 14 YEARS IN SHEFFIELD AND WOODSEATS CHILD RAPE CASE
In a harrowing case that has shocked the Sheffield community, Van Newman, a 55-year-old man residing on Fraser Road in the Woodseats area, has been sentenced to 14 years in prison for a prolonged and disturbing campaign of sexual abuse against a young girl.The abuse began when the victim was only seven years old and continued over several years, involving multiple counts of rape and other sex offences.
Sheffield Crown Court heard that Newman became deeply infatuated with the girl after first meeting her when she was just six years old.
