RAPE ACCUSED DUE IN COURT AFTER CITY CENTRE ATTACK
A man is due to appear in court charged with rape offences after a 17-year-old girl was attacked in Leeds city centre.West Yorkshire Police said the victim was approached by a man in the Call Lane area and attacked at a nearby location, before being left in Assembly Street in the early hours of 9 November.
Umar Asghar, 34, from Bradford, is charged with two counts of rape, along with one charge of kidnap and false imprisonment.
He was charged with the offences on Saturday and remanded into custody, the force said, and is due to appear at Leeds Magistrates' Court later.
