UGUR EMRE OF ST ANDREWS FACES TRIAL OVER SEXUAL ASSAULT AND ALLEGED ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES AT BIG BOSS

A prominent takeaway owner from St Andrews is preparing to stand trial after serious allegations involving the sexual misconduct of young girls at his establishment. Ugur Emre, aged 42, is accused of engaging in inappropriate and unlawful behavior within his business premises, Big Boss, located on Bell Street in St Andrews.

According to the charges, Emre is alleged to have sexually assaulted one girl by physically grabbing her and kissing her on the head. Additionally, he is accused of indecently touching another girl, which involved seizing her head and her body inappropriately. These disturbing allegations paint a troubling picture of misconduct occurring within the confines of his business.

Beyond the sexual assault accusations, Emre is also accused of making inappropriate sexual remarks to multiple young girls, including two specific victims and three others. The allegations extend further to claims that he sold alcohol and vapes to minors, raising concerns about violations of licensing laws and underage sales. Prosecutors have also brought forward allegations that Emre allowed staff members to work excessively long shifts, with some working more than 13 hours continuously without proper breaks, raising issues related to employment and licensing regulations.

Ugur Emre, who resides on Market Street, appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court to face these serious charges. His legal representative, solicitor Lee Qumsieh, entered a plea of not guilty on his behalf. The court proceedings confirmed that Emre denies all allegations against him. Sheriff Clair McLachlan scheduled a trial for February and granted Emre bail, allowing him to remain free pending the outcome of the case.
