TYLER VALLANCE OF BROMSGROVE AND REDDITCH: CHILD KILLER AND ABUSER STRIKES AGAIN

In a disturbing series of events that have shocked the communities of Bromsgrove and Redditch, Tyler Vallance, a man with a long and violent history, has once again found himself at the center of a criminal investigation involving assault and the tragic death of his infant daughter. The latest incident occurred in September 2018, when Vallance, who is already serving a nine-year sentence for the manslaughter of his two-month-old daughter Isabella, was involved in an assault that left his partner, Linda Davidson, with a broken foot.

Vallance, residing on Bath Road in Worcester but with known ties to Bromsgrove and Redditch, appeared via videolink from prison at Worcester Crown Court to face charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. The court was informed that Vallance had admitted to pushing his partner down the stairs during an argument, which was reportedly triggered by suspicions of infidelity. Linda Davidson, who was present in the courtroom supporting him, did not support the prosecution, adding a complex layer to the case.

Prosecutor Giles Nelson detailed the events of that night, stating that Davidson called the police after the incident, which took place at the top of the stairs. She described how Vallance pushed her, though she was uncertain whether he used one or both hands. The force of the push caused her to fall, resulting in a fractured talus bone in her foot, which necessitated surgery and hospitalization. During the 999 call, Vallance could be heard making threats to stab others if they approached him, indicating a volatile and dangerous state of mind.

The court heard that Vallance was arrested at the scene and initially denied pushing Davidson, claiming she had tripped. When questioned by police, he responded with a 'no comment.' The relationship between the couple, which began on May 4, 2018, was described as tumultuous, with daily arguments often fueled by Vallance’s jealousy and accusations of infidelity, particularly concerning Davidson’s interactions with colleagues at work.

Vallance’s criminal history is extensive and deeply troubling. In December 2014, he was sentenced to nine years in prison for the manslaughter of his infant daughter Isabella, who was just 12 weeks old at the time of her death. The post-mortem revealed catastrophic injuries, including brain trauma, eight broken ribs, and fractures to her legs, injuries consistent with violent shaking and gripping, inflicted during episodes of Vallance’s violent temper, often linked to his failure to take prescribed medication.

Further investigations uncovered that Vallance had a prior conviction from August 2013 for sexual activity with a girl under 16, for which he served six months in a young offenders institution. Throughout the videolink hearing, Vallance displayed signs of disengagement, slumping forward with arms folded and turning away from the judge at times. Recorder Edward Coke sentenced him to an additional four months in prison but emphasized that the Crown was justified in pursuing the case despite Davidson’s reluctance to support it.

Vallance’s history of violence and abuse is marked by multiple incidents. In a previous court hearing, he admitted to causing grievous bodily harm and manslaughter, pleading guilty to the latter. The injuries inflicted on Isabella in her final moments were described as 'catastrophic,' leading to her rapid decline and death in hospital five days after paramedics were called. The injuries were so severe that they were likened to the impact of a car crash, caused by violent gripping and twisting.

Vallance’s troubled past also includes a conviction in August 2013 for sexual activity with a minor, which resulted in a six-month jail sentence. His pattern of violent and reckless behavior has had devastating consequences for his family, especially his young children. His ex-partner, Jessica Wiggins, formerly of Heathfield Road in Redditch, was found guilty of neglecting her parental responsibilities by allowing the death of her child. She received a nine-month suspended sentence and a supervision order, reflecting the court’s recognition of her limited involvement and the influence of social services.

In a separate but related case, Jessica Wiggins was convicted of failing to act to prevent her baby daughter Isabella’s death. The infant, who was only 12 weeks old, died at Birmingham Children’s Hospital in December 2012 after suffering severe head injuries and fractures to her ribs and legs. The court heard that her father, Vallance, had assaulted her multiple times, with injuries including broken ribs and brain trauma, inflicted during episodes of violent shaking and gripping. The court also noted an unexplained, brief 999 call made from Wiggins’ mobile phone shortly before the final emergency call, raising questions about the circumstances leading to Isabella’s death.

Vallance’s history of violence, sexual offenses, and the tragic loss of his children paint a grim picture of a man whose actions have had irreversible consequences. His case continues to evoke outrage and concern within the communities of Bromsgrove and Redditch, highlighting the urgent need for intervention and support for vulnerable families before tragedy strikes again.
