TYLER ISSACS FROM NEWPORT SENTENCED FOR HARASSMENT AND ASSAULT IN BRUTAL CASE

In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the Newport community, Tyler Issacs was found guilty of a series of aggressive and threatening actions directed at his former partner following their breakup. The court proceedings revealed a pattern of relentless abuse, which included not only verbal threats but also physical violence and invasive stalking behavior.

According to court reports, Issacs subjected the woman to a sustained campaign of intimidation and harassment. His actions ranged from making explicit threats to kill her, to sending vile and menacing messages that left her feeling terrified and vulnerable. On one particularly alarming occasion, Issacs tracked her down to a local pub where she was socializing with friends. The situation escalated when he assaulted her in public, adding a violent chapter to his ongoing campaign of abuse.

Despite having previously been given a suspended sentence and a restraining order after biting her on the face in 2020, Issacs continued to breach these legal restrictions. His persistent violations included hiding in her house and making multiple unwanted contacts, which only intensified the court’s concern about his behavior. Over a span of two weeks, he sent threatening messages such as, “I f****** promise you, I’m going to f****** strangle the life out of you,” and “you can’t run forever,” illustrating his obsessive and jealous mindset.

The court heard that Issacs’ conduct was driven by obsessive jealousy and an inability to control his temper, factors that contributed to the woman and her children living in constant fear. His history of convictions, including previous assaults and breaches of restraining orders, underscored a pattern of violent and unlawful behavior. He had served multiple periods in prison, further highlighting his repeated disregard for legal boundaries.

During the trial, his barrister argued that the relationship between Issacs and the victim was “toxic” and that Issacs still harbored feelings for her. In sentencing, Tyler Issacs was handed a two-year prison term for breaching the restraining order, along with an additional two months for assault.
