MARRIED NOTTINGHAMSHIRE PENSIONER ADMITS RAFT OF CHILD SEXUAL OFFENCES
A married Nottinghamshire pensioner has admitted trying to engage in sexual communication with two underage girls.Trevor Haskard pleaded guilty to a number of child sexual offences when he appeared in person at Nottingham Crown Court this week.
The charges he admitted were two counts of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child, one count of attempting to cause a child aged 13 to 15 to watch a sexual act and three counts of possession of indecent images of children.
Chris Brewin, defending, said: “Can I ask for a pre-sentence report?
I appreciate the matter crosses the custodial threshold by some distance but my client has no previous convictions.” “I would also like a chance to get some medical information not just for my client but also his wife.” Judge Mark Watson granted the application and handed 78-year-old Haskard, of Sherwood Way, Selston, unconditional bail.
He said: “I am adjourning your case until October 7 and handing you bail so you can get your affairs in order.
You are now subject to notifications (on the sex offender register).”
