TORAY DOUGLAS AND DANIEL WOLFE TRIED IN BIRMINGHAM FOR REPEATED RAPE OF 15-YEAR-OLD GIRL

Two men, identified as Toray Douglas, aged 38, and Daniel Wolfe, aged 21, are currently standing trial at Birmingham Crown Court, facing serious allegations related to the sexual assault of a minor. The charges stem from an incident involving a 15-year-old girl who had previously run away from her care home, seeking refuge and safety after what must have been a distressing and tumultuous period in her life.

Prosecutor Jonathan Barker provided detailed testimony about the circumstances leading to the girl's discovery by law enforcement authorities. He explained that the police eventually located her in a room on Blakeland Street in Birmingham, where she was found lying in bed. The girl was dressed in a man's T-shirt and was otherwise unclothed. According to Barker, she initially denied having any sexual contact with Mr. Douglas, only admitting to having shared a kiss. However, she later confided in her care worker that she had been subjected to sexual assault by two men, namely Mr. Douglas and another male, identified as Emmanuel, who is the second defendant, Daniel Wolfe.

Further details revealed that after fleeing her care home, the girl encountered Douglas and a friend near Birmingham Children’s Hospital. During this meeting, she consumed alcohol, which may have impaired her judgment. Barker emphasized that Douglas was aware of her age and her status as a care home resident. The prosecutor recounted that at some point, the second male, Wolfe, left the scene. Barker highlighted that Douglas, also known by the nickname 'Shotty,' knew her age was only 15 and was in care, yet he allegedly encouraged her to lie about her age and go upstairs with Wolfe.

According to the prosecution, Wolfe then repeatedly raped the girl. The teenager reportedly expressed her reluctance and did not want to engage in any sexual activity. After her arrest, Douglas claimed that the girl told him she was 17 and denied having sex with her, although he later admitted to having had sex once, insisting that it was consensual. Douglas has entered a plea of not guilty to four charges of rape and one count of assault by penetration. Wolfe, on the other hand, has pleaded not guilty to three counts of rape. The jury was informed that Wolfe maintained he did not engage in any sexual activity with the complainant and denied that she was ever in his room, further complicating the case.

As the trial continues, the court will hear more evidence and testimonies to determine the truth behind these disturbing allegations, which have shocked the Birmingham community and raised serious concerns about the safety and protection of vulnerable minors in care.
