TONY JACKMAN FROM IRTHLINGBOROUGH SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES AGAINST 13-YEAR-OLD GIRL IN NORTHAMPTONSHIRE
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Irthlingborough and the wider Northamptonshire area, Tony Jackman has been sentenced to prison for heinous crimes involving a young girl. The incident, which spanned over several months, culminated in Jackman sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl after establishing a troubling pattern of manipulation and trust-building.Between December 2020 and August 2021, Jackman, who resided in Irthlingborough, engaged in a series of actions aimed at gaining the girl’s confidence. Court proceedings revealed that he offered her lifts in his car and provided her with money, tactics often used to lure vulnerable minors into dangerous situations. His actions were not impulsive but part of an extended period of grooming that ultimately led to the assault.
The case came to light on May 6 of the previous year when Northamptonshire Police were alerted to the offences. Following the report, law enforcement officers swiftly moved to investigate Jackman’s digital devices. The seizure of his electronic equipment uncovered a disturbing collection of indecent images of children, including photographs he had taken himself of the victim and some of her friends. These images painted a clear picture of Jackman’s predatory behavior and his obsession with exploiting minors for sexual gratification.
Jackman faced multiple charges, including two counts of sexual assault, three counts of creating indecent images of children, three counts of taking photographs of children without consent, five counts of recording images under clothing, and a count of voyeurism. His guilty plea came during a court hearing at Northampton Crown Court on August 9, where he admitted to all charges. During the proceedings, he confessed that he took the photographs for his own sexual pleasure, revealing a disturbing level of premeditation and intent.
As a result of his convictions, Jackman was sentenced to four years and five months in prison. Recognizing the danger he posed, the court also imposed an extended license period of four years, ensuring close monitoring after his release. Additionally, he was served with an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order, restricting his activities and contact with minors. To further safeguard the public, Jackman will remain on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life, marking a permanent record of his crimes and ensuring ongoing oversight of his actions.
