TOMMY BACK FROM HAVANT SENTENCED FOR SHOCKING INDECENT BEHAVIOR IN PORTSMOUTH AND HAVANT

A man identified as Tommy John Back, aged 22, from Rooksbury Croft in Havant, has been sentenced to prison following a series of disturbing incidents involving indecent exposure and possession of inappropriate images involving minors. The case was brought to justice after a thorough investigation by local authorities, culminating in a court appearance at Portsmouth Crown Court.

Back's troubling actions began on February 29, when he targeted a 15-year-old girl in Portsmouth. Around 3:20 pm, in the vicinity of Pleasant Road, Milton, Back approached the young girl, engaging her briefly in conversation before committing an indecent act by exposing himself. Fortunately, the victim did not sustain any physical injuries during the encounter. The same day, Back was observed in Goldsmith Avenue, where he approached a 30-year-old woman waiting for a bus. He again exposed himself before fleeing the scene, leaving the woman unharmed but understandably distressed.

Further investigations revealed that on March 5, Back was involved in stalking another 15-year-old girl in the Prospect Way area of Havant. Although she was not physically harmed, the incident added to the mounting concerns about his behavior. Following these events, police launched a detailed inquiry, which included public appeals for information. As a result of the investigation, Back was arrested and charged with multiple offenses.

He faced a total of seven charges, including four counts of exposure, two counts of voyeurism, three counts of creating indecent images of a child, possession of an extreme pornographic image, and using threatening, abusive, or insulting language or behavior to cause harassment, alarm, or distress. After pleading guilty to several charges, Back was sentenced on August 22 to 21 months in prison. The court's decision reflected the seriousness of his actions and the danger he posed to the community.

Detective Constable Dave Glover, who led the investigation, emphasized the importance of reporting such incidents. He stated, "We take all reports of indecent exposure very seriously, and Back's behavior was very concerning. I am pleased that the court has recognized the threat he posed to members of the public and has imposed a sentence that sends a strong message that this kind of behavior will not be tolerated. I urge anyone who is the victim of similar offenses to report it to us immediately.
