MET POLICE OFFICER CHARGED WITH SEXUAL ASSAULT IN LONDON
A serving Metropolitan Police officer, Tom Devine, who was attached to the Roads and Transport unit, has been formally charged with sexual assault.The offence reportedly occurred on April 9, when the officer was off duty, and the individual involved was known to him.
Despite being suspended from duty, Devine is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 20 January, to face one count of sexual assault by touching.
Authorities confirmed that the charge relates to an incident with a person known to him, and the matter is currently under legal proceedings.
The incident has attracted media attention due to the officer's position within the Met Police and the serious nature of the allegations.
