TIMOTHY WALLACE FROM HORSHAM SENTENCED TO EIGHT YEARS FOR SEXUAL ASSAULTS IN SUSSEX
In a significant case that has shocked the community of Horsham and the wider Sussex area, Timothy Wallace, a 46-year-old man from South Holmes Road in Horsham, has been handed down an eight-year prison sentence following his conviction for a series of disturbing sexual assaults involving a young girl.According to Sussex Police, Wallace was found guilty at Lewes Crown Court on Friday, December 21, of five separate charges of sexual assault by touching. These offenses occurred over a period spanning from May 2010 to January 2012, highlighting a prolonged period of abuse that caused considerable distress to the victim.
The court's decision not only resulted in Wallace's imprisonment but also mandated that he register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, a measure designed to protect the community and prevent further offenses.
Detective Constable Dani Flude, a member of the West Sussex Child Protection Team, expressed her thoughts on the case, emphasizing the severity of Wallace’s actions. She stated, “Wallace preyed on the girl over a period of time and caused her severe emotional trauma, added to by the fact that she had to give evidence against him in court due to his not guilty plea.”
She further acknowledged the bravery of the young victim, saying, “However, we are able to give her every possible support and to arrange for the court to take into account her natural concern about giving evidence. She was an excellent witness and helped ensure justice was served.”
This case underscores the importance of safeguarding vulnerable individuals and highlights the relentless efforts of law enforcement and child protection agencies in bringing offenders like Timothy Wallace to justice in Sussex.
