TREDEGAR PAEDOPHILE TIMOTHY DALLIMORE CAUGHT IN DISTURBING ONLINE PREDATION PLOT

In a disturbing case that highlights the ongoing dangers of online grooming, Timothy Dallimore, a 49-year-old man from Tredegar, was found to have engaged in increasingly sinister and sexual communications with what he believed was a 13-year-old girl. The conversations, which took place between March 8 and March 21, revealed Dallimore’s disturbing intentions to see the girl in various states of dress, including a uniform, knickers, and a swimsuit.

Unbeknownst to Dallimore, he was not communicating with a young girl but with an undercover police officer operating as part of an online paedophile hunting team. The officer had set up the profile to simulate a vulnerable child, and Dallimore’s exchanges quickly turned from seemingly innocent chat to explicit and predatory messages. The defendant openly discussed performing sexual acts, including “digital and oral penetration,” during their conversations.

Prosecutor Marian Lewis told Cardiff Crown Court that Dallimore had repeatedly expressed a desire to see the girl in a “cute uniform” and had asked her to send pictures of her legs and underwear. On the final day of communication, March 21, he requested to see her in a swimsuit. The court was informed that Dallimore believed the girl was only 13, which made his actions particularly egregious, especially considering his prior criminal record.

It was also revealed that Dallimore was actively attempting to conceal his online activities by using wiping and encryption software, further demonstrating his intent to evade detection. His actions were in direct violation of a sexual harm prevention order that had been imposed on him following previous offences in 2019.

During the hearing, Judge Jeremy Jenkins addressed Dallimore via video link from Parc Prison in Bridgend. The judge emphasized the severity of the case, noting that Dallimore had initially claimed that his conversations did not matter because he was only chatting. However, the content quickly escalated to more sinister and sexual topics. The judge pointed out that Dallimore’s comments about wanting to see the girl in a uniform and asking for pictures of her in underwear were clear indicators of grooming behavior.

Judge Jenkins highlighted the planning involved in the case and the significant age disparity between Dallimore and the fictitious girl, whom he believed to be 13. The court found that Dallimore’s actions constituted grooming and a breach of the terms of his previous order.

As a result, Dallimore was sentenced to three years in prison. Additionally, he will be required to register as a sex offender indefinitely and will remain subject to an ongoing sexual harm prevention order. This case underscores the persistent threat posed by online predators and the importance of vigilant law enforcement efforts to protect vulnerable children from exploitation.

In a related incident in May 2019, Dallimore, then aged 45, was caught by the paedophile hunting team ‘PH Balance’ after he engaged in sexual communication with profiles he believed belonged to young girls. It was later revealed that these profiles were operated by adult members of the team, who posed as children to trap predators. Dallimore admitted to sending sexually explicit messages but was not sentenced to prison at that time. Instead, he received 120 hours of unpaid work and was placed under a sexual harm prevention order, marking a previous chapter in his criminal history related to online sexual misconduct.
