ROTHERHAM MAN JAILED FOR SNAPCHAT SEX VIDEO AND ASSAULT SMIRKS IN COURT
A woman-beating bricklayer who sent his ex a video of a woman performing a sex act on him and uploaded it to Snapchat for his friends to see has been sentenced.
Remorseless Thomas Walker smirked as he was informed he would need to register as a sex offender for seven years after being convicted at Sheffield Crown Court for voyeurism and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
The court heard Walker, 27, from Rotherham, recorded a woman engaging in a sex act on him and uploaded the video to Snapchat, where he reportedly had 400 friends viewing it.
His victim was embarrassed when her ex brought the video to her attention last year, leading to its police report.
The court also revealed that Walker had assaulted a woman earlier in the year, causing injuries to her face and body, leaving her bloodied.
His victim’s face was covered in blood, and she could not recall what had happened, with blood being described as being 'all over the house.' Prosecutor Andrew Bailey stated that Walker claimed his victim had been a 'mouthy bitch' and that he hit her in the head when he tried to hug her.
The woman was treated at Rotherham Hospital for facial injuries and pain.
Defense lawyer Clarkson Baptiste argued that Walker had been assaulted multiple times at HMP Doncaster and had to defend himself on many occasions.
Judge Graham Reeds QC rejected claims that Walker showed remorse and sentenced him to two years and three months in prison, with a suspended four-month sentence also activated to run consecutively.
A restraining order prohibiting contact with the victim was imposed indefinitely, and Walker smirked as he was told he would be on the sex offenders register for seven years.
