THOMAS NASH SENTENCED IN COUNTY LIMERICK FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN BICESTER AND HAMPSHIRE

In a significant case that spans multiple regions, Thomas Nash, a 70-year-old man from Fedamore, County Limerick, has been handed down a lengthy prison sentence after being convicted of serious child sexual offences. The proceedings took place at Oxford Crown Court, where Nash faced charges related to criminal acts committed in Bicester and Hampshire during the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Between 1997 and 2001, Nash was accused of engaging in sexual misconduct involving two young girls, aged between four and seven at the time of the offences. These disturbing acts were carried out at various locations within Bicester and Hampshire, raising concerns about the safety of children in those areas during that period. The charges against Nash were formally brought after an investigation that culminated in his arrest at St Aldates Police Station in Oxford in May 2015.

However, Nash's legal troubles did not end there. In May 2016, he failed to surrender himself for trial, prompting authorities to issue a European Arrest Warrant to ensure his return to the UK. Following his apprehension, Nash was extradited back to the United Kingdom, where he ultimately pleaded guilty to the charges against him.

On January 12, Nash was convicted of 16 counts of indecent assault involving a girl under the age of 14, along with four counts of gross indecency with a girl under 16. The court's decision reflected the severity of his crimes and the impact on the victims involved. Yesterday, Nash was sentenced to serve a term of ten years and nine months in prison, a punishment that underscores the gravity of his offences and the justice served for the victims.
