DUNDEE SEX OFFENDER SPRINTS FROM COURT AFTER SENTENCING ANGER
Thomas Dolan, a 66-year-old resident of Baldovan Terrace in Dundee, was involved in a sexual assault incident nearly a decade prior.
He admitted to sexually assaulting a girl at a Dundee residence, in a case where the victim's name remains protected for legal reasons.
The assault involved Dolan touching the girl beneath her clothing and grabbing her breast.
During his court appearance at Dundee Sheriff Court, there was public outrage as the sentence was handed down.
Dolan was ordered to join the Sex Offenders Register and to adhere to a six-month home detention order, which restricted him to his home between 7pm and 7am daily.
He was also mandated to comply with notification requirements on the Sex Offenders Register for five years, and he was fitted with an electronic tag.
The sentence was reduced to six months from the initial eight months after he entered an early guilty plea.
After the court proceedings concluded, Dolan tried to run away from the courthouse to avoid being photographed, fleeing from the steps immediately following his sentencing.
