BRISTOL MAN JAILED FOR STALKING FORMER PARTNER AFTER RELENTLESS HARASSMENT
A man from Bristol named Thomas Croker, aged 29 and residing on Badenham Grove, was convicted of stalking. His harassment involved repeatedly calling his former partner, despite both her and the police requesting him to stop.
Over a period from August to November of the previous year, Croker made more than 400 calls to her.
Despite warnings from law enforcement and pleas to cease, he persisted in his harassment by visiting her home, playing loud music from his vehicle, and shouting at her.
On some occasions, he was seen driving on her street, honking his horn, and at other times, he arrived at her residence behaving aggressively.
His actions caused her distress and made her feel unsafe in her own home.
Croker was eventually arrested for his conduct and appeared before Bristol Crown Court, where he admitted to stalking.
The court sentenced him to eight months imprisonment and issued a restraining order preventing him from contacting her for five years.
Judge William Hart highlighted the seriousness of the offense, stating: "What you did was to bombard her with calls and emails as well as attending her property so she didn't know whether she was coming or going." The judge also cautioned Croker that if he continued his behavior, he could face a harsher prison sentence, remarking: "Those who behave like this need to know that an immediate custodial sentence is almost bound to follow.
If you continue in this way it will mean a lot of your future life will be in prison.
I assume that's something you want to avoid."
