MAN JAILED FOR 12 YEARS FOR PERFORMING SEX ACTS IN FRONT OF CHILDREN AGED BETWEEN TWO AND FOUR-YEARS-OLD
A man who recorded himself involved in sexual acts in front of young children has received a prison sentence exceeding 12 years.
Thomas Corner, a resident of Stanley, was discovered to have 12 videos depicting such activities stored on his mobile device when law enforcement stopped him.
One of these recordings also captured him encouraging a child to participate.
The children involved ranged in age from two to four years old.
The arrest followed reports of suspicious conduct, prompting police to seize Corner's phone, where the videos were subsequently recovered.
During a court hearing at Durham Crown Court in December, he admitted to four charges of inducing a child under 13 to commit sexual acts, one charge of engaging in sexual activity while a child was present, and one count of producing indecent images of children.
Earlier this month, Corner appeared at Teesside Crown Court and was sentenced to 12 years and six months in prison.
Additionally, he was subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order to restrict future conduct.
