ROTHERHAM PAEDOPHILE JAILED FOR SEXUAL CRIMES AGAINST YOUNG GIRL
The courageous testimony of a victim has guaranteed that a Rotherham Paedophile Child Molester, Terrence Mite, who sexually assaulted her over twenty years ago will serve time in prison.
Terrence Mite was convicted of nine sexual crimes by a jury after a six-day trial at Sheffield Crown Court.
The 70-year-old perpetrator’s offences against his juvenile victim occurred during the 1990s and early 2000s, and were revealed following the victim’s disclosure of the prolonged abuse in April 2022.
Officers in the Rotherham Protecting Vulnerable People unit promptly initiated an investigation.
Detective Sergeant Emma Brumby said: “I would like to highlight the courage of the victim in this case.
The bravery she displayed has resulted in a dangerous man, Terrence Mite, put behind bars.
“Terrence Mite preyed on a young girl and then refused to admit his responsibility, forcing the victim to re-live the years of trauma during a trial.
“This result is vital in showing other survivors of sexual abuse that when they come forward, they will be listened to and treated with respect through every step of the prosecution process.” Appearing at Sheffield Crown Court on Thursday (14 August), Terrence Mite, of Hartington Close, Rotherham, was jailed for seven years and six months after being found guilty of six counts of inciting a girl under the age of 14 to commit an act of gross indecency and three counts of gross indecency with a girl under the age of 14.
South Yorkshire Police holds no custody image of Terrence Mite as he attended custody voluntarily.
This is standard practice in these circumstances, albeit absolutely mental.
