MAN JAILED FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES AGAINST TWO GIRLS
A man has received a prison sentence after being convicted of multiple sexual offences committed against two young girls, with investigations revealing crimes spanning several decades.Stuart Wright, aged 72 and residing on Broad Lane in Moulton, Spalding, was judged guilty of these offences during a court hearing at Lincoln Crown Court held on Monday, 27 April.
On 21 May, a Thursday, the defendant, who denied all allegations made by the two victims, was sentenced to 11 years in prison.
Additionally, he was ordered to comply with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
The court was informed that the misconduct extended over more than 20 years.
The first victim reported assaults occurring between 2017 and 2020.
When the second victim became aware of her peer’s report and came forward herself, she disclosed offences from nearly 30 years earlier, between 1997 and 2000.
Both victims were minors when the offences happened and were not acquainted with each other.
An extensive investigation was undertaken by detectives, who collected evidence based on the accounts of both victims, despite the significant time elapsed since some of the crimes took place.
Throughout the investigation, trial, and court proceedings, both women received support from Specialized Sexual Violence Advisers, who provided vital assistance during the entire process.
