STUART WAGGETT FROM BOLTON-LE-SANDS CONVICTED OVER CHILD ABUSE IMAGES IN LANCASHIRE

In a case that has shocked the local community, Stuart Waggett, a singer known for his performances in Bolton-le-Sands, has been found guilty of possessing and creating indecent images of children, along with possessing extreme pornography involving an animal. The conviction was handed down at Preston Crown Court after a series of legal proceedings that revealed disturbing details about Waggett's actions.

Waggett, who is 44 years old and performs under the stage name Eddie Robbins, admitted to eight counts of making indecent images of a child, seven counts of possessing such images, and two counts of possessing extreme pornographic material depicting a sexual act with an animal. The court heard that these offences were committed at his residence in Bolton-le-Sands, a village in Lancashire, and that he was arrested at an address in Lancaster on May 21, 2013.

Following his arrest, Waggett was formally charged on November 6 of the same year. He subsequently pleaded guilty to all charges on February 24, 2014, during a court hearing that marked the culmination of a lengthy investigation. The sentencing took place on a recent Wednesday, where Judge handed down a sentence of eight months in prison, suspended for two years. Additionally, Waggett was ordered to pay £1,000 in court costs and was mandated to attend a sex offenders’ rehabilitation programme.

During the court proceedings, Waggett expressed remorse for his actions. He issued a public apology, attributing his behaviour to a difficult period in his life. He explained that the death of his daughter had led him into a phase of heavy drinking, which he now recognises as a grave mistake. Waggett stated, “I’m not proud of what I did. I was going through a bad time. It was a short period of my life and it certainly wasn’t the norm to me.”

He added, “Due to the death of my daughter, I was drinking heavily. I’ve held my hands up and I want to get on with my life. I’m getting all the help and support I need from the right places and I’m trying to turn things around.”

Waggett is known locally for his performances at pubs, clubs, and festivals, where he often sings songs by 1950s icons such as Buddy Holly and Bill Haley. Despite his musical talents, his recent conviction has cast a shadow over his reputation, prompting concern among community members and fans alike.
